ParivantBot

ParivantBot is Parivant's reader. It reads a tour operator's public website to prepare a free report on that site: when the operator asks for one, or to offer it to them.

What it reads

  • Only the operator's own public website. It does not read booking channels, review sites or maps.
  • The home page and up to 7 more pages that look like tours, booking, prices or contact.
  • What a visitor sees: how to book, published prices, use on a phone, languages, contact and WhatsApp links, reviews, titles and structured data, links to booking channels, and the business contact details the site publishes.

How it reads

  • It respects robots.txt. It reads /robots.txt first and applies it to every page. If robots.txt does not answer or blocks us, it stops.
  • At most 1 request every 10 seconds per site, robots.txt included. If your robots.txt asks for a longer Crawl-delay, we follow it (up to 120 seconds).
  • It stops if the site says no (status 401, 403, 429 or 503) or shows a captcha.
  • Read only (GET). It does not log in, fill in forms, use cookies or run JavaScript.
  • It follows redirects only within the same site.

How it identifies itself

With this user agent (the address https://parivant.com/bot leads to this information):

ParivantBot/0.1 (+https://parivant.com/bot)

How to opt out

Add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: ParivantBot
Disallow: /

ParivantBot reads it before every visit and will not read any page of your site. You can also write to us with your website address and we will stop reading it.

If we email you, every email has a one-click link to stop receiving them.
